Ireland

Up early in Glasgow to bid goodbye and head back to Ireland for a more laid back week of leisure. Looking forward to seeing friends in Co. Clare, some music and scenery, and maybe a graveyard or two. Then Co. Mayo for a bit before flying back.

Short flight then 250+ km drive and we’ve arrived in County Clare. Staying in a cool AirBnb in Liscannor, just outside our standard haunt of Lahinch (or Lehinch – locals even argue about it). Checked in and then right across the road to a pub, because it so happens today is All Ireland Hurling Championship- and the match just starting.

Adopted Tipperary to root for since Kristen’s family has roots there and their colors are maize and blue (well gold, but close enough).

Tipperary wins! Dominant performance after Kilkenny had a man sent off in first half. They take home the Liam McCarthy Cup.

Then a second pub – basically right next door – for a meal – easily 100 mussels in this order…

Fantastic! Back to Egan’s for one more pint, then calling it an early night. More tomorrow!
